In future, biobanks of the German Biobank Alliance (GBA) will use uniform software for quality management. The program features modules to manage documents and processes as well as to organise and implement audits and measures.

“Establishing uniform QM software is an important milestone for the German Biobank Alliance,” says QM Coordinator Christiane Hartfeldt (German Biobank Node). “In future, all biobanks will be able to work on shared QM files. This is a decisive step towards harmonising quality management.” The first of a number of workshops at nine German Biobank Alliance (GBA) locations has been conducted in June to train staff in use of the software.
